Dr. Barakat, has always believed that a beautiful smile is essential to achieving oral health as well as confidence. While Barakat Orthodontics uses the most innovative orthodontic technology available, it is Dr. Barakat and her team’s personal touch that really makes patients feel so special. It is her priority to provide excellent orthodontic treatment, ensure optimal clinical results, and at the same provide a warm, and positive experience for patients.
In her free time, Dr. Barakat volunteers at area schools for career day and dental health education, and enjoys spending time with her husband Jerry, and their two children, Hope and Paul.
Dr. Barakat completed her specialty training in Orthodontics at the prestigious Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester, New York, in 1996. She attended the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry in 1990 and received her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) with honors in 1994. She attended Vanderbilt University for her undergraduate studies in 1987. Dr. Barakat regularly participates in continuing education programs to stay current with leading treatment techniques.
Dr. Barakat is a Board Certified Orthodontist, an achievement held by only 25% of all orthodontists. She has been featured in several magazines, including Health and Beauty, I am Modern, and Northern Virginia Magazine. Dr. Barakat has been voted “Top Orthodontist” by her peers in Health and Beauty Magazine, Washingtonian Magazine, Top Orthodontist, Northern Virginia Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine. Dr. Barakat has been voted a “Top Dentist” in the Nation by topDentist.
Was pleasantly surprised how positive the ambience was Dr was excellent fast efficient everything the texts were on point. They were fast. Efficient took care of my child. Her braces got on the same day and the atmosphere was very good. High energy positive bright very nice happy place and good attitudes with the coworkers pleasantly surprised, and my daughter is happy with her braces and excited for her new and improved smile.
